Abstract
Management and frequent changes in land use often result in surface runoff, which can increase the intensity of water erosion in the area. To complete the aim of work is to determine the intensity of water erosion in the cadastral area of Veľké Janíkovce (Nitra district) and then to propose erosion control measures within the General Principles of the Functional Rearrangement of the Territory for the land consolidation project. To complete the aim of work we need to calculate the water erosion loss by using the Universal Soil Loss Equation USLE, based on geographic information systems (GIS). Land use was identified based on updated cadastral maps and orthophotomaps, which resulted in 91% of area is covered by arable land. By modelling the potential intensity of water erosion (conditions C = 1, P = 1), was determined the average yield of 5 t.ha-1.year-1, at the calculated intensity the average (using the current sowing procedure in the area) the soil yield is 0.30 t.ha-1.year-1. With the presented proposal of technical and agrotechnical erosion control measures, we declare a reduction of the average denudation to 0.15 t.ha-1.year-1.
