Abstract

The aim of this paper is to evaluate the production of municipal waste and waste separation rate in Nové Zámky town. In this town, a total of 182,840 tons of municipal waste was produced in the period 2010 – 2018. On average, the production of approximately 536 kg of municipal waste per capita was in Nové Zámky town for the period 2010 – 2018. However, its sorting rate gradually increased from 9.37% (2010) to 55.57% (2018). In 2019, 27,574.31 tons of municipal waste was produced, of which 13,996.05 tons were sorted. In 2019, the average production of municipal waste per inhabitant of Nové Zámky town accounted for approximately 727 kg, and in terms of 1 inhabitant of Nové Zámky town, approximately 50.92 kg was sorted.
