Abstract

The Department of Geography and Regional Development forms part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. With the establishment of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, the teaching of geography came to the university grounds, which increased the prestige of the workplace and its graduates. The Nitra workplace is thus the fourth oldest university geographical workplace. Since the academic year 2010/2011, the department's portfolio includes bachelor's and master's studies in Teaching of Academic Subjects – Geography in Combination, and one-subject bachelor's and master's studies in Geography in Regional Development. A very important aspect is the monitoring of the graduates of the given workplace. The aim of the paper is to analyze the development of the number of workplace graduates as well as their spatial distribution in Slovakia. From 1963 to 2018, a total of 2,588 graduates successfully completed their studies at the Department of Geography and Regional Development in Nitra.
