Abstract

Europe is currently undergoing a very dynamic development. European countries, regions and their populations face many challenges, such as war, population aging, migration, separatism, climate change, state of the environment or the rise of political populism and extremism. Very important part of solving various economic, social, political and environmental problems is their reflection on the side of the educational process. Due to the dynamics of development in various thematic areas, there is a need to constantly supplement and update traditional teaching materials. We were curious about which problems and topics are considered to be relevant and suitable for inclusion in geographic education by geography teachers and students. We ascertained their opinions through a questionnaire survey and analyzed them on the basis of several criteria. The obtained results will represent a starting point for selection, professional and didactic processing of the most important problems and topics related to the individual regions of Europe.
