Abstract
Morphological changes in the landscape, particularly those associated with anthropogenic activities, have profoundly affected the appearance of river systems and the overall landscape structure. These changes primarily involved the regulation of watercourses, where modifications were made in the past to stabilize rivers and increase their capacity. These interventions led to significant changes in floodplain areas, resulting in the shortening of watercourses and an acceleration of floodwater flow. Such interventions had far-reaching long-term impacts on ecological processes and the hydrological regime of the landscape, which is still reflected in the current landscape structure. The process of landscape transformation was particularly intense during the communist land reforms, which focused on flood prevention and the economic optimization of land use. The aim of this study is to reconstruct the river network from the pre-reform period using orthophotos from 1949, thereby providing valuable information about historical changes in the landscape and its hydrological characteristics.
