Abstract
Survey and specific features of post-industrial landscapes in Czech Western Carpathians. The special mapping procedure based on application of commonly accessed datasets was used for mapping post-industrial landscapes (PIL) in the Czech Republic and 128 individuals of PIL were identified and classified. Only 17 of them (13%) are located in the eastern part of the country mostly in the pre-Carpathian Lowlands and Carpathian Mts. mountains. Industrialization of lowlands run in 19th century and in the first quarter of 20th century. Czech Western Carpathians were mostly industrialized in 1930s and later starting in late 1920s. Different time of industrializing caused difference in the number and extent of identified post-industrial landscapes and some way indicates the vitality of local industry after the period of economic transformation.
