Abstract
Geography teaching in schools also includes knowledge about the local landscape. The aim of the paper is to analyze the state of teaching of the local landscape at grammar schools in the Prešov district based on the questionnaire method. The paper attempts to answer the question of whether microgeography is given sufficient attention in teaching, whether the time allocation for its teaching is sufficient, and last but not least whether teachers need didactic materials for teaching the microgeography of the Prešov district. The questionnaire was created using the Google Forms service, which we subsequently sent by e-mail to geography teachers at grammar schools in the city of Prešov. The results show that the time allocation for teaching local landscape, despite its important role, is inadequate. There are significant differences in the teaching methods used by teachers and which are suitable for their students. A higher time allocation for its teaching would contribute to improving students' knowledge of the local landscape, which is not very good, and the preferred form of teaching should be field observation.
